BAPTISM

Why Should I be Baptized?

Unfortunately, numerous religions, denominations and doctrines have made this beautiful commitment more complex and confusing than it should be.  Plain and simply, Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, who was without any sin, was baptized.  During His baptism, the sky opened and the Spirit of God descended onto Jesus like a dove (Matthew 3:16). Prior to His baptism, Jesus stated to John the Baptist, that this was to be done to "fulfill all righteousness" (Matthew 3:15).  Baptism signifies your death to sin (into the water) and resurrection into eternal life through your faith in Christ Jesus (out of the water).  Baptism is the physical representation of your decision to become saved in Christ, freed from your sins, and born again.  During your time of baptism, you will have an encounter with the Holy Spirit.  Your decision of baptism must come after you have become born again (John 3, Acts 2:38), and we recommend that you do this sooner rather than later.  Baptism, in itself, cannot save you; your salvation through Jesus Christ does.
